North, report having held their • usual monthly sale on Thursday, when ' a large catalogue'was again offered to i a large attendance of buyers. Comped- 1 tion was exceedingly keen and all lots sold readily under the hammer. A good wool catalogue was offered and price.were Id to 2d better than last sale. For sheepskins a very firm market ruled for all descriptions at 4d to Id ad vance; salted skins sold at Is to Is 66 better than last sale. Hides had a very strong enquiry for all grades at Id iu id advance; yearlings and calfskins firm. We quote: — Wool. —Southdown, 21U1 to 22|d; I crossbred medium, 16id to 17d; coarse i 14|d to 15}d; crossbred seedy and in j fcrior, 32d to 133 d; lambs, fine, 20d to i 203 d; medium, 19d to 193 d; coarse, 17d ; to 18Jd; short and seedy, lid to 12.1; ! dead, 14d to 14-}d; pieces, 9kl to lljd; crutchings, 9d to lOd.
