THc Rt. Hon. L. C. M. S. Amery and Mrs Ameyy will arrive in Wanganui byspecial train from New Plymouth at 3.18 p.m. on Friday, and will leave for the south on Saturday.
Arrivals yesterday at Foster’s Hotel were Mr W. E. Ward (Waimate), Mr and Mrs H. B. SeUy (Sydney), Mrs and Miss Gibson (Patea), Messrs J. M. Carroll, H. G. Bateman, J. Ambrose (Wellington), Mr H. S. Bcare, Mr and Mrs James B. Donald, Mrs E. Porter (Auckland).
An old resident of Wanganui, Mr C. J. Arthur, died on Sunday at Hawera, where he had lately resided, after an illness extending over twelve months. Mr Arthur was a son of the late Mr H.. A. Arthur, and brother of Mt A". H. Arthur, of .Hawera. He was connected with the firm of Arthur’s Ltd., and was well-known and respected by many friends.
