THE FARMING INDUSTRY [ Special “ Chronicle ” Service ] Shearing is in full swing and- large quantities of wool are arriving here for rail transport. The season promises to be a busy one for the railways for goods and stock traffic and the staff are kept busy loading wool. Farmers are anxious to see how the first sales locally in Wanganui are going to turn out. Prices will be good as far as the inquiries go. The cream supplies are good so far as tho payout goes. It will be the best season they have had during the last three years. HOCKEY The ladies team may be seen taking advantage of the daylight saving in the evenings. They the holding a dance on Wednesday night. Good music has been provided for the evening. POST OFFICE The alterations are almost complete which will be much appreciated by the public. Several houses have now had a coat of paint which brightens up the village, together with the electric light.
