Dr. Dubreuil, Dr. Chain bardel and Dr. Louise, w r ho in 1922 'held a postmortem on the brain of Anatole France similar to the circumstances of Goethe, Byron anti Gaiabetta, to-day disclosed the result to the Academy of Medicine. The weight was only 36 ounces, 12 ounces below normal but they pointed out that the weight has no direct relation to the intellect.
Anatole France’s special pccularities caused a marked increase in the area of grey matter; otherwise, what was lost in weight was gained in content. The doctors concluded that the shape of the brain was admirable, and was comparable with certain Louis tho Fifteenth clocks, containing mechanism of perfect precision.
