So successful was the week-end excursion run from Wellington to Wanganui on November 5, that the Railway Department intends to announce another at an early date. Passengers travelled from Wellington, Levin, and Palmerston North and on the Friday before the special train left the Department had. to close down on bookings. By then 425 tickets had been sold and this was the maximum for which accommodation could be obtained on the Wanganui River steamers.
