BY AIRSHIP TO THE MOON GERMAN ENGINEER’S ATTEMPT (A. & N.Z.) BERLIN, Nov. 8. An amazing airship is taking shape behind guarded doors, in which a former engineer of Krupps, whose name has not been divulged, declares that it will fly to the moon. The grotesque proposal is the subject of considerable ridicule, but negotiations to finance the scheme in America proved most successful. It is expected to cost at a minimum £27,500. It -was orginally planned to construct the airship in England, but the contract fell through. Hence the first moon express will be made in Germany. The details are closely guarded, but it is revealed that it will be of a type which will be released at a tremendous speed from a specially constructed machine. The Intrepid designer at present is unable to find a passenger, but it is difficult to believe that there are insufficient cranks in the world to render this an insurmountable obstacle.
