NEW YORK’S WELCOME CAPTAIN LINDBERGH FETED. (A. & N.Z.) NEW YORK, June 13. Captain Lindbergh has arrived. He received decorations from the Mayor of Now York City and from Governor Smith of New York State. The reception far surpassed anything ever before experienced hero. The entire city assumed a carnival air. Millions of people lined Broadway from the Battery to the City Hall and the enormous cordons of police were utterly unable to cope (with the crowd. ; It took a considerable time to clear a path to enable Captain Lindbergh to land from the cutter upon his arrival by air from Washington. Bands played, whistles and sirens screamed, and the streets were cluttered ankle deep with confetti and streamers, some of which caught fire and almost' created a panic. The showers of paper prevented the majority from seeing j Captain Lindbergh. Hundreds of wo- ; men fainted.
