FILM TAX
DISTRIBUTORS’ OBJECTION APPEAL TO HIGH COURT Received June 14. 11.30 p.m. SYDNEY, June 14. The representatives of the big picture film distributors applied to the Acting-Chief Justice in the High Court chambers for an injunction restraining the State Government from levying and collecting a tax on the exhibition ©f picture films. A declaration was also sought that the Act under which the tax collected Was invalid. The matter was allowed to stand over •until to-morrow to enable counsel for .the Government to confer with the At-itorncy-General.
