EXTENDED LITIGATION AMERICAN OIL SCANDALS (A. & N.Z.) WASHINGTON, May 20. Sinclair was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment and fined 500 dollars for refusing to answer questions before the Senate Teapot Dome Committee, which investigated, the oil scandals. Sinclair was indicted in March, 1924, an/i charged with contempt of the Senate and convicted by the jury in. the district of the Columbia Supreme Court. His attorneys have announced that they will carry the case to the United States Supreme Court. Such action will mean a delay of many months, possibly several years before a start of the sentence. Notice of appeal was filed immediately and the bail of 500 dollars was continued.
