FRENCH STATESMEN PRESIDENT AND FOREIGN MINISTER GO HOME (By Radio) RUGBY, May 19. [ There was a distinguished assemblage at Victoria Station to say fareswell to President Doumergue and M. Briand, w’hen they returned to France, this morning. The King was present with the Prince of Wales, Prince Henry, and the Duke of Connaught. Sir Austen Chamberlain had his last conversation with M. Briand while the President talked with the King. The President’s leave taking of the King, was most cordial. He was obviously delighted with the great reception which has been accorded to him everywhere, during his three-days’ stay in London. At Dover, naval, military and civil representatives gave them a hearty send off and the President’s steamer was escorted across the Channel by a British •destroyer flotilla.
