“A HOT CROSS BUN”
SOUTH AFRICA’S FLAG OPPONENTS SCOFFING. Received May 18, 9 p.m. (A. &N.Z.) CAPE TOWN, May 17. The terms of the Flag Bill have been published. They provide for a flag with the Cross of St. George fimbricated white on a green field divided quarterly. The design is already scoffed at as a 11 Hot Cross Bun.” The flag is subject to the result of a referendum. Provision is made for the official flying of the Union Jack on the King’s Birthday and on three other days.
