MEXICAN REBELS COSTLY ENCOUNTER WITH FEDERAL TROOPS. Received May 19, 2 a.m. (Sun Cable) NEW YORK, May 18. Advices from Mexico City state that the Federal troops report a battle with retreating rebels, the latter leaving 42 dead and carrying away hundreds of wounded. The chase covered four days.
The enemy were led by three insurgent priests.
