PLEA FOR MORE VISITS NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIA I • (A. & N.Z.) MELBOURNE, May 18. | Representatives of Canada, South 'Africa, and New Zealand who attended the opening of the Federal Parliament at Canberra, were entertained at a civic reception by the Lord Mayor. The Hon. A. D. McLeod, responding on behalf of New Zealand, expresseid* appreciation at the manner in which the people of Australia had received the iDominion’s representatives. “We in New Zealand,” he continued, /‘are closest to Australia and Now Zealand has a deep affection for the Australians. There are 40,000 New Zealanders in Australia, and 50,000 Australians living in New Zealand. I wish Australians would visit New Zealand more, for we have many natural attractions, and you would enjoy visiting us 'and getting to know us more.”
