MONTHLY MEETING HELD PERSONNEL OF HONORARY STAFF The Wanganui Hospital Board held its monthly meeting yesterday. There were present Dr. Skerman (chairman), W. Ritchie, T. H. Battle, W. J. Rogers, W. Broderick, A. G. Simpson, A. B. Harris, R. A. Davies, G. E. Anderson, Mrs M. Siddells and Miss M. Newcombe. The question of the number of duties of the honorary staff of the hospital was discussed in committee and on resuming it was reported that the question had been referred to the House Committee to meet the honorary staff, discuss the whole position with them, and report to a future meeting of the Board.

The medical superintendent of the Wanganui Hospital (Dr. A. Nelson) reported that on April 1, there were 161 patients in the institution. During the month 172 were admitted, and at the end of the month there were 149 remaining in hospital. The medical superintendent of the Taihape Hospital reported that on April 1 there were 30 patients in the institution. During that month 46 were admitted, 51 were discharged and 25 remained on April 30. The number of major operations performed was eight and minor operations six. Mr Rogers gave notice of his intention to move at the next meeting of the Board that the Board join the Hospital Boards’ Association.
