AMERICAN MARINES KILLED LIBERAL SOLDIERS REFUSE TO GIVE UP ARMS. Received May 17, 11 p.m. (A. & N.Z.) MEXICO CITY, May 16. Senor Pedro Zepeda, representative of the Liberaol Nicaraguan Government, said that on Monday evening he was advised that 17 United States marines and 25 Liberals were killed in a clash at Lapaz (Nicaragua) when the marines attempted to disarm the Liberals, who Withdrew to the mountains and were not pursued.
