SCORING WELL NEW ZEALANDERS BARING MATCH WITH ESSEX DEMPSTER’S SUPERB CATCHES Th« progress of the match between the New Zealand, tonring team and Essex is progressing favourably, the latest accounts indicating that the visitors have lost three Wickets in their second innings for 72 runs. The weather was dull and cold with rain threatening when the match was resumed. Rain had fallen overnight, but the pitch was not seriously affected. The New Zealand attack was shared by Bernau and McGirr, but Blunt soon relieved the former, who later, while fielding at mid-off, unfortunately missed Cutmore when he had reached 26.
