ENTHUSIASTIC DARGAVILLE CROWDS WELCOME PRIME MINISTER. [Per Press Association.] DARGAVILLE, May 16. As a prelude to Mr Coates’ address, the Prime Minister, Mrs Coates, and the secretary and staff arrived in Dargaville early this evening. The weather was showery and cold, but a large crowd turned out to greet the party. Mr Coates was making his first visit to the electorate since his return from the Imperial Conference. The town was beflagged and the band turned out at the Empire Theatre, where the largest crowd ever seen in Dargaville had assembled. The Prime Minister and Mrs Coates received a great reception and were given a civic welcome by the Mayor and the County Council chairman on behalf of the residents. The meeting which followed was 1 very enthusiastic and orderly. ' Mr Coates will stay in the district until Wednesday night and will pay a | round of visits to various parts of the I electorate handy to Dargaville. He is I . due back in Auckland on Friday at | noon.
