A HUMANE BEQUEST MONEY FOR ORPHANAGE. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, May 16. Another great philanthropic trust for the benefit of Auckland is established under the will of David McNair Dingwall, who died at his residence at liemuera at the end or last week. No estimate of the estate has been made, but it is very considerable, cer- , tainly upwards of £lOO,OOO. After minor legacies and provision for his sister, Miss Sarah Dingwall, the whole of the estate is to be transferred to trustees*, to found and maintain, in or adjacent to Auckland city, an institution to be called “The Dingwall Presbyterian Orphanage” for the care, maintenance and education of orphans and destitute children. The terms of the bequest provide that “the primary object and use of the orphanage is to be for the shelter, maintenance and upbringing of children born or domiciled in New Zealand, of I any race or creed, who shall be orphans or destitute, or orphans, who not being destitute, would in their own interests, and in the opinion of trustees, bo bet-j ter cared for, educated, and brought up in the orphanage, or whether orphans or not, should be destitute, or whose 1 parents are in straightened circumstances.”
