THE ROYAL TITLE
CHANGE TO BE MADE THE STATUS OF IRELAND. (By Radio) RUGBY, May 14. When the Imperial Conference met in London last year, among its recommendations was one in regard to the change in the Royal title. This change is brought into operation by a Royal Proclamation which has now been issued. It consists of the substituting of a comma for the word “and,” thus recognising the present status of Ireland within the Empire. The phrase, “United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and of the British Dominions beyond the Seas,” now becomes “The United Kingdom of Great Britain, Ireland and of the British Dominions, etc.”
