MANGAWEKA SALE New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd... report on the Mangaweka sale on Thursday, May 12, as follows:—We had a good yarding of sheep and cattle and have to report a good sale, there being a sharp rise in sheep prices, especially lambs, although cattle were slow of sale, We quote: Ewe lambs 17s 6d to 18s, wether lambs 15s 3d to 15s 7d, m.s. lambs 14s to 16s sd, small b.f. lambs 13s Id, 2-th wethers, small, 19s 9d to 20s 6d, 4-yr ewes r.w. S.D.R. 21s Id, aged ewes, r.w. S.D.R. 13s 6d, forward steers £7 2s 6d, m.s. weaners £2 2s, rough steers £4 to £5. SALE AT FEILDING. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report: At Feilding on Friday there was a fairly large entry of sheep and a good entry of cattle, including a large number of dairy heifers, which, however, mot with poor demand. Other classes of cattle sold well at late rates. Sheep were in demand at prices in favour of vendors. We quote:—-Sheep: 4 and 5year ewes r.w. Southdown rams, 16s sd, 17s 6d, 22s Id to 235; mixed age ewes in lamb, 12s 3d, 13s 3d, 13s lid, 14s to 17s 9d; empty ewes, 13s to 13s 6d; wether lambs, 15s 6d, 16s 3d, 16s 8d; ewe lambs, 16s, 16s 6d, 19s to 20s 7d; b.f. lambs, 15s .6d, 16s to 19s 6d; mixed lambs, 13s 7d; fat wethers,' 24s 7d, 25s 2d; fat ewes, 16s Id, 16s 9d; maiden fat ewes, 22s 2d; fat lambs, 16s Bd, 20s 5d to 21s Id. Cattle: Fat bullocks, £lO to £lO 15s; fat heifers, £5 2s 6d; fat cows, £3, £3 17s 6d; £4 2s 6d to £5; 4 and 5-year P.A. bullocks, £7 to £7 16s; 3-year coloured steers, £5 6s; forward cows, £2 ss, £2 ss, £2 10s to £3 10s; store cows, 20s, 255, 29s to 355; weaner heifers, 17s 6d, £1 to £2 15s; springing cows, £7 5s to £7 17s 6d; springing heifers, £lO ss; second calvers, £4 2s 6d; bulls, £2 6s, £2 17s 6d to £3.

Levin atfl* Co., Ltd., report that at Feilding on Friday they had a fair yarding of sheep and a small one of cattle. All classes of sheep sold freely, late values being maintained. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having a good yarding of both sheep and cattle at the Feilding sale on Friday. All classes of sheep :aet with a keen demand, but bidding for cattle was rather dull.
