MANGAWEKA SALE New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd... report on the Mangaweka sale on Thursday, May 12, as follows:—We had a good yarding of sheep and cattle and have to report a good sale, there being a sharp rise in sheep prices, especially lambs, although cattle were slow of sale, We quote: Ewe lambs 17s 6d to 18s, wether lambs 15s 3d to 15s 7d, m.s. lambs 14s to 16s sd, small b.f. lambs 13s Id, 2-th wethers, small, 19s 9d to 20s 6d, 4-yr ewes r.w. S.D.R. 21s Id, aged ewes, r.w. S.D.R. 13s 6d, forward steers £7 2s 6d, m.s. weaners £2 2s, rough steers £4 to £5. SALE AT FEILDING. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report: At Feilding on Friday there was a fairly large entry of sheep and a good entry of cattle, including a large number of dairy heifers, which, however, mot with poor demand. Other classes of cattle sold well at late rates. Sheep were in demand at prices in favour of vendors. We quote:—-Sheep: 4 and 5year ewes r.w. Cattle: Fat bullocks, £lO to £lO 15s; fat heifers, £5 2s 6d; fat cows, £3, £3 17s 6d; £4 2s 6d to £5; 4 and 5-year P.A. bullocks, £7 to £7 16s; 3-year coloured steers, £5 6s; forward cows, £2 ss, £2 ss, £2 10s to £3 10s; store cows, 20s, 255, 29s to 355; weaner heifers, 17s 6d, £1 to £2 15s; springing cows, £7 5s to £7 17s 6d; springing heifers, £lO ss; second calvers, £4 2s 6d; bulls, £2 6s, £2 17s 6d to £3.
