WITH THE HARRIERS NOTES AND COMMENTS (By "Cross Country.”) Only two fixtures are listed for the off season so far. These are:— May 28—Three-mile race, St. John’s Hill. June 18—Winter Show Steeplechase. The harrier game is in the boom ail over the Dominion this year as several now clubs have been formed in different parts. A very strong club is at present in existence at New Plymouth and they have at least sixteen members competing every Saturday. This dub is looking forward to a race with the Wanganui Club before the season is far advanced. The following members of the Wanganui Club arc asked to meet at the Post Office at 2.30 to-day:—A. Telfar, R. Broad, J. Pawson, G. Moore, J. Palmer, R. Palmer. H. Warring, B. Clark, L. Couch, W. R. Bradley, E. Pleasants, K. Johnston, F. McLean, and W. Bramwell. Intending members are also invited to attend. On Saturday, May 28, the local club intend, holding a race over a threemile course, so members are advised to get into form. The local club intend sending a team to Masterton later on in the season, and tho Wairarapa Club have decided to pay Wanganui a return visit. H. E. B. Newton intends getting into form as soon as he returns from his holidays. Lon Couch is steadily getting back to his last year’s form. He is after the Winter Show Steeplechase again. Jim Pawson, B. Clark and George Moore should all make good at the cross-country game. The formci had his first run last Saturday and is very keen on the game.
