A PROFESSIONAL IMPOSTER SIX MONTHS IN GAOL. [Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 30. Robert Motherspoon, aged 30, admitted at the Police Court to-day that ho had obtained £5 from various persons by falsely representing that he was going to Cambridge to see his mother, who was dying. In one case he said his mother was dead. Chief-Detective Cummings described accused as a professional imposter. His mother was not in Cambridge. He had a wife and five children, four of the latter being in a State institution, and he had not paid for their keep. Accused was sentenced to six months ’ imprisonment. •
