BREAKING AND ENTERING YOUNG MAN’S CONFESSION. [Per Press Association.] PALMERSTON N., April 29. “Breaking and entering premises seems to be a sort of mania with me, I cannot help it,” was the statement made to detective officers by William Victor Haslam, aged 20, who pleaded guilty at the Court this morning to charges of breaking and entering and of theft from a dwelling. Accused told detectives that he came from England in March of last year, going to work at Linton. “Tools found on him were intended for further housebreaking,” said Detective Russell.
