A drought in the central and western districts threatens to drive pastoralists off their holdings. Conditions aro described as fearful, and, as many ewes are lambing, owners are unable to move stock to other pastures. Indications are that the pastoralists will have to pass another rainless winter, and after three years of drought, many are unablo to decide whether it is worth while to pay the cost of artificial feeding or let the sheep take their chance. j
