VATICAN'S ORDER
“MORALITY POLICE” CHECKING WOMEN’S SKIRTS. ROME, April 26. The imposition of an economic as well as a moral boycott on persons who permit feminine members of their families to dress immodestly has been ordered by the Italian “Catholic Action.” The organisation, the Vatican’s most influential lay instrument, has instructed its fight against immodesty by serving in the capacity of “moral police. ’ ’ Their duties will be to spread the Pope’s ideas both by personal example and by preachment, and to report “speedily and discreetly” to the central organisation all cases of immodesty in dress.
