WIG-WAG SIGNALS
COMPLAINT AT COUNCIL MEETING COUNCILLOR ROGERS TO APPROACH DEPARTMENT The new wig-wag danger signa! which arrived in Wanganui recently was again referred to by Cr A. H. Rogers at the Wanganui City Council meeting last evening. Cr Rogers stated that the signal had been lying at the Aramoho station for some weeks now, and it would be some time before tho Department woke up from its bout of sleeping sickness. In the meantime tho signal would prooably grow fibrous roots in tho Aramoho yard. The only way to wako the Department up would be for the Council to make a nuisance of itself. Cr W. M. Luxford pointed out that certain members of the Council were always worrying about trivialities anrt they should consider the finances more before they started criticising. The crossings in Wanganui compared more than favourably with those in many other centres, and in any case the De* partment*had a large number of very important crossings to look after. T 1 was quite time councillors ceased pmpricking and left the Department to manage its own affairs. Cr Rogers pointed out that the Grey Street and Glasgow Street crossings were dangerous. It was resolved to leave the matter of the wig wag in the hands of Ug Rogers, with power to approach thc| Department.
