KEEPS STOKERS ASHORE CANADIAN STEAMER DELAYED (Per Preus Association.! AUCKLAND, March 7. The Canadian Explorer’s departure for New York was delayed for over I three hours on Saturday by the absence of seven stokers. ! They were taken from an hotel by the police, who, after much trouble, : induced them to go aboard. . As the steamer was leaving the wharf I one of them fell overboard. Another member of the crew dived overboard and held him afloat until both were picked up by a launch.
