At the annual opeeial meeting of the Rangitikei Golf Club at Bulls on Friday afternoon the balance-sheet, which shows the finances of tho chib in a very satisfactory state, and tho following general report will be road, Tho annual general meeting will be held at the close of the special meeting:— The club is now well established and during the past season players evinced much enthusiasm in the game. The captain is desirous that the ladder system should be instituted this year, similar to that in vogue in tennis clubs. This would assist the match committee in the selection of a team and would also encourage novices- to improve their game. It has been refreshing to note the number of trophies donated by members last season and your committee takes this opportunity of thanking the donors. Mention should be made of the local championships, Mrs Noel Harris and Mr R. J. Carter being the winners after hard fought games. Handsome challenge cups were presented by Messrs G. W. Hart, the first secretary, and A. W. Amon respectively. These cups will again be competed for during the coming season. It is expected that the course will be placed in order during March and should not entail a great amount of labour. The greens have again been topped dressed and are looking well, particularly the six greens on the flat, which are well covered with grass kept short by the sheep. The membership of the club is at present as follows:—Ladies 46, men 32, non-play-ing 7, honorary 4, juniors 6, a total of 95. Several alterations in the rules have been proposed and these will be considered at the general meeting. “THE BLUE STREAK” “The Blue Streak,” an action picture, with a strong flavour of burlesque that makes nearly all of Richard Talmadge’s productions distinctive, comes to the Bulls Town Hall to-morrow evening.
