BIG DIAMOND RUSH PROFESSIONAL RUNNERS IN DEMAND. Received March 6, 8.40 p.m. CAPE TOWN, •March. 6. The Grasfontein diamond rush was the biggest ever known here. Some 25,000 runners lined up for the start in the presence of a similar number of spectators, The first to reach the area was the South African champion runner, Len Richardson, who was offered £.lOOO for a claim, but refused. Some 20,000 licenses were issued, constituting a record.
