PERSONAL AND GENERAL (From the li Chronicle’s’ l Special Correspondent). Mr and Mrs E. B. Gordon, (Kawhatau), have left to take up their peimanent residence at Marton. Mrs H. Nash has returned from Wanganui. Mr and Miss Shaw (Roadside) motored through to New Plymouth during the week. Mr and Mrs J. Eagle, who have lived in the Kawhatau Valley for many years have left for Levin. A meeting of th* Anglican Churc*. parishioners was held on Tuesday evening to discuss the possibility of geeting a new ear for the Vicar. It was decided to canvas for funds and this was left in the hands of the committee. Nurse Hamilton (Kawhatau) has been appointed to the staff of the Public Hospital at Taihape. The Post and Telegraph staff are busy making arrangements for installing a new exchange. This is a long needed facility. Mr G. Cowan, postmaster, has left for the South Island on his annual holidays. Mr J. Mclntosh is relieving him. Mrs O’Donnell (Feilding) is visiting Mrs Fox (Roadside). Very poor sport is reported locally this season by anglers. Only a few fisn are being caught, and these are very small. MUSIC EXAMINATIONS Results of Trinity College (London) theory of music examinations held at Convent School on December 4. 1926, are as follows: — Junior division:—Selwyn Collis 99. Catherine Barrell 72, Eileen Pritchard 70. lain Smith 68. Preparatory division: —Millicent Claire McNie 100, Elvira Wright 97, Myra Roache 93, Linda McNeill 87, Mary Stewart 84. Sixty marks give the candidate a pass, and 80 marks honours.
