EFFECTS OF A DRINKING BOUT MAN WITH GOOD BANK ACCOUNT [ Per Press Association. ] DUNEDIN, March 4. Although Ambrose Albert Phillips had over £6OO in the Savings Bank, he appeared at tho Police Court this morning charged with the theft of a fountain pen, valued at £l, the property of a clerk in the P.O. Savings Bank, where accused went to draw money. Counsel explained that accused had been on a drinking bout. Tho Magistrate remanded him in custody, remarking that he was still 'suffering from the effects of drink.
