WANGANUI HOSPITAL
MEETING OF THE BOARD The Wanganui Hospital Board held its monthly meeting yesterday, there being present: —Dr. Skerman (chairman), Messrs A. G. Simpson, B. Harris, J. Aldridge, G. Spriggens, T. H. Battle, G. Anderson, W. Broderick and W. Ritchie. The number of patients in the Wanganui Hospital on January 1, 1927, was 116. In all 246 patients were admitted to the institution during the month of January, and 215 were discharged. On January 31, 147 patients remained in hospital. For last month the average number of beds occupied was 132. Entrants into the hospital’s nursing staff were Miss J. G. Eggers, C. A. Lacey and N. Thorn George. Permission was granted Dr. Nelson to advertise for donors of blood to the hospital On January I» the number of patients in the THibape Hospital was 24. Last month 55 patients were admitted and 44 were discharged, leaving 35 patients in the institution on January 31. A total of 27 operations was performed during th© month. Nurse L. M. Croft, of Wellington, was appointed matron of the Raetihi Hospital. It was stated that the Director-Gen-etal of Health had approved of tho appointments of Doctors Cook and Feltham to the Raetihi Hospital and Dr. Hastings as radiologist to tho Wanganui Hospital.
