BOXING
TO-MORROW NIGHT’S MATCH WELL-KNOWN PERFORMERS WILL COMPETE Much interest is being shown in the boxing events to be staged at the Opera House to-morrow night, and a large (attendance of followers of fisticuffs is expected. Owing to Harry Casey, the popular Australian performer Having neen taken ill on Saturday at Dunedin, he will be unable to meet Artie Hay in the contest, but the Wanganui Boxing Association has been fortunate in arranging with Raymond Jansen, the French boxer, to take Casey’s place. Jansen created a very favourable impression when he defeated Reg. Trowern recently, and he may be depended upon to provide some excellent fighting against Hay. Both men are clever, and enthusiasts should witness numerous thrilling episodes between these two champion performers. A pleasing array of amateur bouts will also be decided in conjunction with the important fight, and these bouts give every promise of being full of interest. The programme is a comprehensive one and the events are expected to be lamong the brightest staged in Wanganui.
