GENEROUS SCHEME
ENDOWMENT OF CHILDREN NEW SOUTH WALES BILL. ESTIMATED ANNUAL COST SEVEN MILLIONS. Received Dec. 30, 12.55 a.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 29. The Children’s Endowment Bill has been framed for introduction as soon, as the State Parliament meets on January 11. It applies to families whore the breadwinner earns not more than £5OO a year, 6s a week being allowed for each child under .fourteen. Illegitimates and children of aliens are not included. The scheme is expected to absorb about seven million sterling per annum and to affect 452,000 children.
