OLD BOYS’ ASSOCIATION. (From the { ‘Chronicle’s ” Special Correspondent.) I A general meeting of the Sandon Old Boys’ Association was held on Wednesday evening, Mr A. Matthews presiding over a moderate attendance. The secretary (Mr J. Al. Croucher) presented a statement, which showed s small credit balance on the recent reunion. The general expression of opinion was that the result was satisfactory. At the close of the meeting the secretary asked members to consider during the interval the question of relieving him of the duties of office as he felt that the work was more than he could maniagp. Air H. J. Fagan expressed regret at hearing the announcement and sMd he hoped that before the next ftnitflaj meeting, Air Croucher’s health would hiave improved and that he would re tain office, as his place would be very hard to fill. TE KAWAU RUGBY SUB-UNION. A meeting of the Management Con» mittee was held on Thursday evening] Air A, H. Sanson in the chair. AU tho clubs were represented. Air E. J. Arnott (manager) reported on the representative games played and complimented the teams on their play and also their conduct off the field. The question of the date for a match with Manawatu thirds was left to Mr L. McGee and the secretary, the game to bo played, subject to the consent of the Maniawatu Council, at Kaimatara*. Consideration of dates for game* with Rangitikei was left over until the next meeting. W. Cole (United) was re-instated as a junior. Mr C. Watkins offered to take charge of the gate at Awahuri on the. occasion of the junior match with Oroua and the offer was accepted. A protest was received from the Awahuri junior team regarding the game against United Club played at Sandon on June 19, and was held over until the next meeting, the referee to be tasked to attend or forward a statement on the matter. At a meeting of the Hui Mai Football Club if was resolved that a meeting be called for next Thursday to consider the insurance scheme.
