It is learnt in the Parliamentary lobbies that the Government has received cable the Royal assent to the Bill amending the Constitution making w0..0n ..on eligible to sit in the Legislative • mncil. It is understood that the Governor is to be asked to make additional appointments to the Legislative Council during the course of next session commencing on Tuesday. In Labour . irclea the number suggested is ten, in eluding women members. The Opposition are confident that his i.xcellency will not consent to the appointments.
