Australian.—Salted: January 30, 166 s to 170 s (Is 53d to Is 6Jd); January 23, 164 s to 168 s (Is sld to Is 6(1). White: January 30, 100 s to 102 s (10fd): January 23, 101 s to 102 s (10fd). Australian. —Coloured: January 30, 100 s to 102 s, up to 103 s (103 d to lid). White January 30, 98s to 100 s to 103 d). Shipment New Zealand produce arrived this week per s.s. Tekoa. Wool, Tallow, Hemp, and Tow. Wool;—Merino selling irregularly. Continental sorts 71 per cent, to 10 per cent, below last closing rates. Crossbred competition good at about last quotations. Coarser sorts in favour of sellers. Tallow. —Spot market quieter. Present quotations are: —Mutton: Fine, 45s fid to 46s per cwt..; fair to good 41s 6d to 455; dark to dull, 39s to 40s. Beef: Sweet and/or mixed. 41s 6d to 43s 6(1; fair to good, 39s 6d to 41s 6d; dark to dull, 38s to 395. Mixed: Fair to good, 39s to 41s; dark to dull, 37s 6d to 38s 6d. Gut, etc., 35s 6d to 38s. Hemp.—Manila market irregular. “J” grade February-April shipments sold £44 15s down to £44, now quoted February-April and March-May shipments, £45 value. Sisal steady. Tanganyika No. 1 January-March shipments quoted at £45 value. New Zealand high points easy and offered £39 10s, any position. Reported sales of common at £34 10s; January-March shipments: Fair afloat parcel sold at £37 .His, with buyers January-March shipments £36 15s. Tow. —Fair business has been done on the basis of £26 10s for No. 2 shipment position, and £26 15s afloat, while No. 3 spot sold at £24 ss.
