THE POLITICAL CONVERT CENTRAL FIGURE AT RECEPTION SIR ALFRED MOND HOLDS COURT Received Feb. 2, 8.10 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 2. At the reception held last night at Londonderry House, prior to the opening of Parliament, Sir Alfred Mond, the exLiberal, was, strangely enough, an unofficial guest. All the political representatives were anxious to see him, some whispering, “There he is.’’ Sir Alfred, smiling, with a red carnation in his buttonhole, held an informal reception, knowing nearly everyone. Ho might have been a Conservative all his life. | Tho “Daily Express’’ says tho band struck up “I Want to be Happy” as l Sir Alfred approached.
