THE DISARMAMENT PROBLEM LEAGUE’S INQUIRY DEFERRED GERMANY’S ADMISSION THE FIRST CONSIDERATION LONDON, Feb. 1. On the request of France, Italy. Czecho-Slovakia and Uruguay, the League’s preliminary disarmament inquiry has been postponed till May 15, because it is desirable first to have Germany in the League and overcome Soviet objections to Geneva as the venue. SUGGESTION ENDORSED MAJORITY FOR ADJOURNMENT Received Feb. 2, 10.10 p.m. GENEVA, Feb. 1. Five members of the League of Na lions Council, including France, Italy and Japan, requested the postponement of the meeting of the preparatory commission for the disarmament confer ence, fixed for February 15. The secretary telegraphed the suggestion to other members of the League and Councillors and those invited to the I commission. Later a majority for the adjournment was assured with Spain accepting the proposal.
