AN IMPROVED DEMAND. [Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 22. Tho entries for to-day’s Addington market were smaller than usual, and there was an improved demand lor I most classes of stock. I Store Sheep.-—A very small entry, mostly wethers. The demand was brighter than for some weeks. Good I 4-th and 8-th halfbred wethers, 25s to 26s 4d; ordinary 4-th 6 and 8-th haff--1 bred, 23s 3d to 23s 8d; 2-th halfbred wethers, 22s 8d to 255; sound mouthed ewes, 27s to 28s 3d. Fat Lambs. —A heavy entry of 2000 head, which Was keenly snapped up by butchers. Good medium weights made a full lOd lb; heavy weights 9(1; extra prime lambs, 34s 6d to 36s lOd; primo lambs, 32s to 345; medium lambs, 29s 9d to 31s 9d; light lambs, 27s 6d to 29s 6d. Fat Sheep.—A much smaller yarding than usual and a keener sale throughout, prices being up to Is 6d a head better th'an tho preceding week. Primo wethers, 31s 6d to 345; extra, to 39s 7d; medium, 28s (id to 31s; light,, 26s 6d to 28s 3d; primo ewes, 26s 6d to 30s; medium, 23s to 25s 6d; light ewes, 20s to 22s 6d; rough, 17s to 19s 9d. Fat Cattle.—A good quality entry. The demand was brisk up to a point. Prime beef made from 38s 6d to 41s 6d per 100 lbs; a few cases to 42s 6d; prime heavy, 35s to 37s 6d; medium quality, 31s 6d to 355; light and inferior, 27s (id to 31s; and rough, down to 22s 6d; extra prime heavy weight steers, £lB 10s to £2O 12s 6d; prime heavy weight steers, £l6 to £l7 17s 6d; primo medium weight steers, £l4 10s to £l6 10s; medium steers, £l2 10s to £l7 10s; light steers, £lO to £l2 ss; rough steers, £7 10s to £9 10s; extra prime heifers, to £l4 2s 6d; prime heifers, £9 15s to £l2; medium heifers. £6 15s to £9 10s; light fat heifers, £5 to £6 10s; extria prime cows, to £l4 2s (id; primo cows, £8 10s to £lO 15s; medium cows, £6 5s to £8 ss; inferior [cows, £3 15s to £6.
