THE WELSH DISASTER
TERRIBLE EXPLOSION HUGE WATERFALL FOLLOWS. TORRENT DEVASTATES VALLEY. LONDON, Nov. 4. A prelude to the Dolgarrog disaster was furnished by terrific explosions caused by the bursting of the dam banks. A sea of water swept down the gorge in a waterfall a thousand feet wide. The torrent caught many people unawares, engulfing houses and drowning the occupants and sweeping the funniture into the River Conway a mile away, and thence to the sea. SEVEN BODIES RECOVERED THOUSANDS OF CARCASES STREW VALLEY. Received November 5, 7.15 p.m. (Reuter). LONDON, Nov. 4. Seven bodies of victims of the Welsh disaster have been recovered. The carcases of thousands of animals strew the valley.
