ELECTION NIGHT INCIDENT

PHOTOGRAPHERS INJURED. FLASHLIGHT POWDER EXPLODES [Per Press Association.) ’ WELLINGTON, Nov. 5. While preparing to take a flashlight photograph of the crowd at an election results display board, A. W. Schaef was seriously injured through the premature explosion of the flashlight powder and had to be taken to hospital. His assistant. Mr E. T. Robson was also injured but not seriously and was able to complete the work. The men were standing on the roof of a building adjoining His Majesty’s Theatre and the windows at the back of them were shattered by the explosion. A similar experience, fortunately not attended by serious consequences, befell another man who was taking an election crowd flashlight.
