SILENT MEAL
BISHOP’S UNUSUAL ORDER. LONDON, Oct. 17. The Bishop of Peterborough (Dr. Bardsley) has organised an unusual gathering of the clergy in his diocese. He has instructed the clergy to observe silence before a three hours’ devotional service, and likewise to remain silent throughout the luncheon, making the occasion one of serious mediation.
