N.S.W. LABOUR
THE INCREASED SALARIES. OPPOSED BY OTHER PARTIES. [Per Press Association.] DANNEVIRKE, Oct. 31. The Primo Minister has handed to the Press for publication the following message which he has received by cable from Mr Bavin, the leader of the National Party in New South Wales. It begins: “I have sent the following cable to Mr Holland, leader of the New Zealand Labour Party:— “ ‘lt is reported that Premier Lang informed you that the increases in salaries of members of the Assembly were granted with the full approval of all parties. This statement is entirely incorrect. The increases were opposed by the Opposition and carried on a division in which all National members voted against the increase.’ ”
