LABOUR STRONGHOLD INVADED
REFORM ’ S REMARKABLE PROGRESS. SEDDONVTLLE VOTES NO-CONFID-ENCE IN MR HOLLAND. (Special to “Chronicle.*') WESTPORT, Oct. 31. Mr C. S. Beilby, Government candidate for Buller, continues to make remarkable progress in this electorate, while everything points to Mr Holland losing ground. The head of the Labour Party has had to obtain auxiliary speakers to address electors in certain parts of the electorate. Last night, at Scddonville, at one time a strong Labour stronghold, a vote of no-confidence in Mr Holland was carried after Mr Holland had disputed the chairman’s ruling and the motion had been put to the meeting twice. At a meeting at Denniston last night Mr Beilby received a vote of thanks and confidence.
