THE BIGGEST PROBLEM QUESTION OF PRIVATE PAYING PATIENTS. FAMOUS SURGEON TO VISIT DOMINION. NEW YORK. Oct. ‘.'9. ' A Philadelphia message states that •all the important cities of Australia and New Zealand will be visited by ! Dr. Malcolm McEachern, of Vancouver and Chicago, who is sailing from Vancouver on November 17 f< r a study of ihealth conditions, involving a survey of hospitals. Dr. McEachern, while attending the Surgeons’ Convention, said that the problem confronting the people of Australia and New Zealand, part of whose taxes goes into the upkeep of their splendid charity hospitals, is an expansion of the same advantages and facilities to cover te case of a private paying patient. The New Zealand doctors attending the convention include Sir Donald McGavin (Wellington) and Dr. N. W. Wilson (Hastings). At the grand convocation to-mor-row night a Fellowship in the American .College of Surgeons will be awarded in absentia to the following New Zealanders: Jmes Renfrew White (Dunedin), David Storer Wylie (Palmerston North), William Young (Wellington-, and Thomas France Ryan (Australia).
