CLIMBING PLANTS

At this time of the year the tieing up of plants begins. It makes a lot of difference if it is done properly. Very often some wire-netting is tacked along the fence or wall to be covered. This is apt to be a nuisance to clean behind it. A better way is to put a row of staples along the bottom of a fence, leaving twelve or fifteen inches between each one. A corresponding row should be put at the top and thin wire should bo stretched from the top to the bottom. The plant can be tied Io this if necessary but many climbers do not need it. ' When the plant is needed to come down all that has to be done is to undo the top and the whole thing can bo taken down. It can be replaced just tis easily if desired.
