SUCCESSFUL LAND SALE

TE MAHANGA ESTATE. TOTAL REACHES £83,217. There was a crowded attendance at the Municipal Assembly Hall. Hastings, when Hoadley, Son and Stewart, Ltd., in conjunction with Dalgety and Co., Ltd., and de Piliehet McLeod and Co., Ltd., submitted to auction two blocks of the famous Te Mahanga estate, containing about 2500 acres, subdivided into 14 allotments, varying in area from 28 acres up to 335 acres, on account of the executors of the late A. F. Douglas. Mr H. N. Stewart was the auctioneer and bidding was brisk throughout. The whole offering was disposed of with the exception of Lot 3, containing 40 acres, which is under firm offer and will be quitted shortly The following is a list of sales effected: Lot 1. containing 145 acres, to R. J. Bell, Havelock North, £52 per acre.

Lot 2, containing 110 acres, to G. W Nilsson, Havelock North. £45 per acre. Lot 4, containing 123 acres, to R. J. Bell, Havelock North. £32 per acre. Lot 5, containing 129 acres, to G. W Nilsson, Havelock North, £42 10s per acre. Lot 6, containing 82 acres, to J. TT. Couper. Havelock North, £5O per acre. Lot 7. containing 50 acres, to A. J. Inglis, Havelock North, £fil per acre. Lot 8, containing 253 acres, to .T. H. Couper, Havelock North, £25 per acre. Lot 9, containing 253 acres, to E. J. Harvey, Hastings, £2B per acre. Lot 10, containing 329 acres, to ,T. W. Bicknell, Puketapu, £35 10s per acre. Lot 11, contaimng 285 acres, to H. Gilbertson, Havelock North, £37 per acre. Lot 12, containing 316 acres, to W. J. Monghan, Dannevirkc, £29 per acre. Lot 13, containing 28 acres 1 rd., to W. J. Moughan, Dannevirkc, £29 per acre. • Lot 14, containing 335 acres, to A. J. Field, Havelock North, £25 10s per acre. The total sales represent £83,217 15s.
