CRITICAL SURVEY GOVERNMENT INCLINED TO THE LEFT GENERAL EARRAIL TO BE JI ECALLED PARIS, Oct. 29. f*e new Government is distinctly more inclined to the *‘Left” than th*' outgoing one. It consists of 13 Radical.'. Jive Republican Socialists, and three or the Radical Left. Apart from the disappearance of M. < aiilaux, the most significant departure is Senator Chaumet, who represented the Moderates in the Senate. His portfolio of Minister of Commerce has been assigned to M. Daniel Vincent, an exMinister under M. Poincare, and who belongs to the Locheur group.

It has been announced that M. < haumet will be appointed Governor of rhe Bank of France. M. Herriott is represented by two of his principal lieutenants —M. Chautomps end M. Daladier. The former insisted upon having the portfolio of Minister of Justice, which carries with it the Deputy-Premiership. An important feature is the division of the Finance Department into two sections, namely, the Treasury, of which M. Painleve is head, and the Budget, which is to be entrusted to M. Bennett, who was Under-Secretary in the Premier’s Department in the last Cabinet. All the new members of the Cabinet have previously held office except Senator Perrier, and all are deputies except four. It is reported that one of the first nets of the new Government will be to recall General Sarraill from Syria. Newspapers state that Socialists Blum and Boncour declined portfolios, but promised to support the new Government's financial reform plans, while stipulating that there must be no supplementary taxes. CABINET CONSIDERING POLICY TAX ON ACQUIRED WEALTH. Received October 30. 8.55 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 30. The 1 1 Financial Times’” Paris correspondent says: Cabinet this afternoon egan consideration of the policy to he presented to Parliament next week. There is little doubt that it will include a statement concerning the contribution required from all forms of acquired wealth.
