Players are requested to start as early as possible, las it is intended to present the club trophies at the conclusion of the White Horse Cup competition. This will be won by the member returning the lowest medal score, less his present handicap. Members are reminded that after November 1 the summer golf fee of £1 Is comes into force and will be charged to all members playing after that date.
WANGANUI CLUB CLOSE OF SEASON. The Wanganui Club will close a most successful season to-day with a mixed foursome, at the conclusion of which the prizes for the club competitions for the season will be presented. The draw for the mixed foursomes will be posted at the clubhouse to-day. CASTLECLIFF LADIES’ CLUB Members of the above club are reminded of the match to be played today for a trophy donated by Mrs Dean for, first year ’s players. Play will commence at 2 o’clock. The following is the draw:— Mrs Lints plays Miss Lampit. Mrs Godfrey plays Miss Pascoe. Mrs Dean plays Miss Gerrie. Miss Brock plays Mrs Short. Mrs Duncan plays Mrs Graham. Mrs Butters plays Mrs Mark. Miss Sutton plays Miss Martin. Mrs Malpus plays Mrs Olsen. Miss Thompson plays Mrs Boyd. Members of the Ladies ’ Club will congratulate Mr Cathro on his success both at Belmont and Seafield. This is Mr Cathro’s first season, he never having had a golf club in his hands until he joined up with the Castlecliff Club this year. Castlecliff club especially encourages the beginners both old and young, and if Mr Cathro is a sample of their young players, then we can look forward to Castlecliff being the proud possessor or future champions.
